JDRF 2017 Gala {event}

As many of you know, Little Loves Photography has chosen JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) as its ongoing philanthropy partner.  This organization supports the millions afflicted with Type 1 diabetes by fund-raising to support research for a cure, increasing awareness and leading advocacy efforts.  I have chosen this organization because we have a son who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes four years ago.

Once again I was honored and delighted to have the opportunity to photograph their annual gala — A Magic Night for a Cure — in February.  It is a festive and fun night filled with amazing auctions, a beautiful evening at the Jefferson and lots of generous donations to the JDRF.  This year the Gala raised a record breaking $825,000.

My absolute favorite part of the evening is the Fund-A-Cure auction at the end.  This gives Type 1 children in our community the opportunity to share their stories and help raise money.  My son Trey (pictured below) has participated for the last several years.  It’s a late night, but he loves it.

It was, as always a beautiful and inspiring night!!

Many thanks to everyone who has helped with raise money in the past by attending on of our events or participating in the JDRF Mini Sessions.  This year I am happy to share that we will be ding two sets of JDRF Mini Session – one in the Spring and one in Fall.    Stay tuned for details.
